Professorship in Social Sciences
(Domain: Sustainable Social Development)
(Succession of Prof. Dr. Ulf Liebe)
at the level of Associate Professor or Assistant Professor with Tenure Track. It is a full-time position starting August 1, 2018.
The professorship is affiliated with the interdisciplinary Centre for Development and Environment (CDE) of the University of Bern and fulfills its duties both at the Department of Social Sciences and at the CDE. The professorship focuses on aspects of societal transformation towards a sustainable future. Potential areas of research include questions of consumption and sustainability, the diffusion of efficient renewable energy technologies, sustainable management of public goods and cooperation among the relevant stakeholders, environmental policy regulation to achieve sustainability goals, or the modality and impact of public sustainability communication. Aspects of the social dimension of sustainability such as global or regional development of inequality and poverty could also be a research focus.
